The Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization created to promote agriculture and farming. Established in 2007, HAF’s mission is to support and sustain Hawai‘i’s agricultural industry by addressing critical needs and services of farmers and the agricultural industry in Hawai‘i, and by better connecting the farmers with the community and vice-versa.
Look for the "Localicious Dish" logo on participating restaurant menus and help support raise funds for ag education. For each "Localicious Dish" ordered during the month of March, $1 will be donated back to agricultural education. Each restaurant raising $500, will be able to adopt a school wanting a Veggie U kit.
Veggie U is dedicated to increasing children’s awareness of healthy food options and how real food reaches their plate. We believe children who are exposed to growing their own food are more likely to include vegetables in their diet. Our national non-profit organization supplies Classroom Gardens and a standards-based, five week science program to elementary and special needs classes.
Last year, Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation donated 63 Veggie U kits to Hawaiʻi public school classrooms statewide through the generous support of local restaurants participating in Localicious Hawaiʻi. In 2015, our goal is to distribute 100 kits for public school ag education.
If are interested in becoming a participating restaurant, sponsor or beneficiary school or if you have general questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
